About Tim


Timothy M. (Tim) Hoch is an attorney and private investor who founded one of Texas’ first and most successful property tax lending businesses, which he subsequently sold to Encore Capital Group (NYSE: ECPG) in 2013.  He currently owns a large pre-paid specialty legal services firm, selectively practices business law and is a noted business strategist and consultant, having authored dozens of presentations and books. He has litigated over two thousand cases, tried many to verdict and defended several hundred depositions.  He is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been appointed to serve as a Special Master and Guardian ad litem by numerous courts throughout Texas. He is admitted to practice law by the Texas Supreme Court, the Oklahoma Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

Tim is a past member of the Chancellor’s Advisory Council at Texas Christian University and currently serves on the board of directors for the TCU athletic department’s fundraising organization. He also serves on the Finance Committee for the Trinity Valley School, is Vice Chairman for Catholic Charities-Fort Worth and volunteers at both the Assessment Center (a shelter for abused children) as well as Child Advocates of Tarrant County (an organization which assists victims of child abuse through the court system).

Tim is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University.
